365 Penguins

This humorous picture book contains a wonderful integration of math skills and current environmental concerns. When penguins, sent anonymously, begin appearing on the doorstep of the young narrator, chaos ensues as a modern household tries to figure out how find places for penguins who no longer have homes. Where are all these penguins coming from? The mystery provides a context for readers to learn the number of days in each month, introductory multiplication, sorting and geometrical shapes. The text contains an array of opportunity for creating word problems and will seamlessly offer a segue to teaching students about global warming.

Frog Kisser gives this book a full 5 stars.
